Thursday, August 09, 2007Checking out the competition
Google Maps now has street-level views of Los Angeles. They didn't cover much of the Valley, but they did manage to take photos of their competition's buildings in Burbank. I don't know why I find it amusing, but I do.
The street I live on isn't included, but here's where I shop for groceries (although I never enter the parking lot from this side), and here's where I go when I need postal services (on the left -- for some reason, it won't save the exact view I want). It seems odd that Google is permitted to take pictures of playgrounds and schools as seen here:

http://streetviewgallery.corank.com/tech/story/no-Cameras-allowed This appears to be a privacy invasion. Especially when Google Street View captures the sign which says "Taking photographs is prohibited"! |
